Verde Valley Amateur Radio Association

ARRL - The American Radio Relay League is a membership service organization head quartered at 225 Main St, Newington, CT 06111, USA and serves the over 600,000 Amateur Radio operators, enthusiasts, experimenters and hobbyists in the United States, its territories and possessions. Also, of interest is The ARRL Letter which is published on a weekly basis. and the ARRL W1AW Bulletins. W1AW, the Amateur Radio station of the American Radio Relay League, is a living memorial to the League's cofounder, Hiram Percy Maxim, and transmits on-the-air code practice and bulletins of interest to hams.

FCC - The Federal Communications Commission is an independent government agency whose mission is to encourage competition in all communications markets and to protect the public interest. Of particular interest are the FCC Amateur Radio Service page and the FCC Forms Page (which contains interactive and/or downloadable versions of Forms 605 and 610-B). However, starting August 16th of 1999, the FCC will be using the new Universal Licensing System for the amateur radio service and currently licensed amateur radio operators will need to register with this system to allow for future electronic renewals.

ARRL's ARES Page - The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is part of the ARRL and consists of licensed amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications duty in the public service when disaster strikes.

RACES is a radio communication service, conducted by volunteer licensed amateurs officially enrolled in the local civil-preparedness agency having jurisdiction. It is designed to provide emergency communications for said agency and operation is authorized by emergency management officials only, The RACES operation is strictly limited to official civil-preparedness activity in the event of an emergency-communications situation."
